Rafting no Rio Paiva
Adventure Rafting on the Paiva River is an unforgettable experience.
Experienced and certified local guides offer adrenaline-pumping moments in complete safety. The quality equipment guarantees thermal comfort even on the coldest days.
The wild and crystal clear Paiva River flows between central and northern Portugal and has some of the best rapids in the country. The idyllic landscape, between cliffs and riverside forests, is perfect for nature adventures.
Rafting involves travelling down a river in a team with a guide. In the Arouca Unesco Geopark, there are routes for all levels of difficulty, from the leisurely Rafting Discovery to the more radical Rafting Adventure.
The activity begins in Espiunca, with a briefing and distribution of equipment, and the route varies according to the flow of the river. No previous experience is necessary and the fun includes adrenaline, guaranteed fun and contemplation of nature.
Our guides are certified by the International Rafting Federation and Rescue3 International. Safety is our priority in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Equipment has been selected for your maximum comfort, including wetsuits for the winter. Towels, swimsuits and additional footwear are required. Photos and videos of the activity will be sent to you free of charge.
The rafting season on the Paiva River coincides with the heaviest rainfall of the year, between October and May. For those who come rafting, rain is synonymous with fun!
Finally, after the activity, treat yourself to a hearty lunch on the river (included in the 'With Lunch' option). For dessert, try an old convent pastry, close to its origin, the Monastery of Santa Maria de Arouca.
